I recently came back to NoMachine after a brief hiatus.  I installed it on two Windows machines but I can’t connect because I don’t know what username and password NoMachine is looking for.  I’ve tried the user name and password to the user account i installed NoMachine under and that doesn’t work.  I’ve looked in the server settings on my intended host and I can’t find anything that will let me set a username and password.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

Hi, when prompted to log in, you should use the username and password of your account on the remote PC (fig.7 here https://www.nomachine.com/getting-started-with-nomachine)

No empty passwords are allowed by the way (see this article for more information about that: https://www.nomachine.com/AR05L00802)

You say that it doesn’t work. Can you tell me what message you are getting (a screenshot would be useful)?

All I get on my client is “Authentication failed”.  My host machine is an XP machine, the account I am trying to connect to is an administrator account.  Does NoMachine enforce any kind of password strength?  The password for that account isn’t the strongest password in the world.  If the host machine being an XP machine and password strength aren’t the issue then I will have to pull some debug logs off the host machine.

Figured out my trouble.  I was incorrectly spelling the username.  How embarrassing!!!
