I’m running NoMachine 5.1.26 on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS.  It’s actually Xubuntu (running XFCE).  I’m connecting to it from a Mac OSX 5.1.26 machine.  The Ubuntu machine I’m connecting to is running on a VMware esxi server and the OSX client is connecting to the network over wifi.  When this issue occurs, there’s really not a load on the esxi server overall and has a lot of idle utilization.

When connecting, it will sometimes display a white screen after I authenticate for a few minutes.  If I let it sit there, it will finally display the desktop and it’ll work just fine.  Other times, I’ll authenticate and it will instantly display the desktop.  If I ssh into the Ubuntu workstation, I can see about zero utilization on the processor and nothing really happening.

I was hoping somebody may be able to help me out and figure out why NoMachine is doing this. Thanks in advance!

It could be similar to a problem that we have been able to reproduce, albeit sporadically. Only the logs will tell us if it’s the same problem.

If you are able to reproduce – please run debug on that machine, restart nxserver (sudo /etc/NX/nxserver –restart), reproduce issue and send all logs from server side to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com or attach them here (size is restricted). Instructions about debug and collecting logs you can find there: https://www.nomachine.com/DT04M00076.

Thanks for the response.  Let me turn the debug logs on for a few days and see what happens.  I don’t know what changed, but it seems to not be doing it as much anymore.

I am facing the same issue connecting to a Windows 7 machine from a Windows 7 machine both running NoMachine v5.1.26_1, downloaded yesterday.  Three monitors of same dimensions at both ends, in “All” multimonitor mode.  This setup works find when I use another remote desktop application to log-in and presumably wake up the display.  If I connect directly to the remote machine for the first time with NoMachine when the displays are turned off I get white screens in NoMachine, these quickly disappear when I use the other remote desktop application to log-in.  I experienced the same thing when connecting from an Android tablet (most recent version), suggesting the issue is at the server and not the client end.

The only other thing that may be a bit unusual about my set up is that I am running a VirtualBox Red Hat Linux 6 client in seamless mode, which sometimes has minor effects on display.

Could this be a display-waking issue?

    Hi pgalpern.
We couldn’t reproduce your problem. Please upgrade your NoMachine to 5.1.40 and let as know whether the issue with multimonitor still exists.

I am running a VirtualBox Red Hat Linux 6 client in seamless mode, which sometimes has minor effects on display.

Can you do some screenshots to explain where is the problem? You can sent it here or on forum[at]nomachine[dot]com.
