I had previously just updated.  After complete re-install the USB module did build and seems to be functioning.  There is definitely a problem with the screen corners.  I didn’t notice before but the NX page peel is very sluggish and sometimes its hard to get it to function at all.

I just updated to version 4.2.27 and USB devices are still not showing up.  I had to revert back to version 4.2.26 because the update broke the KDE window manager, the screen hot corners which I use to switch between desktops no longer work. I reverted back to 4.2.26 and it works fine.

Yes I am using the free version. I compiled libx264 myself. It worked beautifully in 13.10 but will not work in 14.04.

here is the output of locate libavcodec.so</span>

    /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libavcodec.so.54

    /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libavcodec.so.54.35.0

I have already disabled acceleration and it makes no difference. I run NoMachine on several Windows 7 machines in VMWare and the performance is unbearably slow when the “acceleration” option is checked so that was the first thing I tried. I have a Windows 7 machine running on bear metal and the “Use acceleration” option works great on it.

This does appear to be the problem. When I follow the article instruction to build the module I get the error posted below.

I have now tested with 4.0.365 and it seems the BSOD’s are fixed. I still am not able to redirect any devices with success. I can connect them and all seems well then whatever program I am running that interacts with a device locks up. For instance I am trying to use a HP Scanjet G3110 scanner in a windows 7 Virtual machine and it will not work. I have tried it from a kubuntu 13.04 workstation to the windows 7 vm and from a windows 7 workstation to the same windows 7 vm and also from a kubuntu workstation to a physical windows 7 workstation to rule out vmware virtual machine all with the same results. I can however connect the same scanner from a kubuntu workstation to a kubuntu vm and it works flawlessly. Another example is just a simple USB thumb drive. It will connect and seems normal. I can open a word document from the drive and when I try and save it I just get the busy cursor, after about 10 minutes or so it will actually save it. If I copy a 50 kb document to the drive it takes 5-10 minutes. By the way I had not mentioned before this is all being done over gigabit LAN. Any ideas on something to try would be appreciated. I really need this USB redirection to work.
