Hi, the backtrace doesn’t seem to have attached. Can you send direct to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com? Thanks!

We aren’t able to reproduce this problem at all.

Are there any .xsession-errors in the Home directory?

By all means send in the logs that you have, you can either attach them here or submit them to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com.

    @Zardoc
, thanks for the feedback, and we’re pleased to know that you can now connect 🙂

We would like to know exactly what characters are causing the problems and if this is indeed related to the multiple processes appearing. To investigate thoroughly we would need to see the logs with debug enabled.

If possible, can you enable logs on Windows server side, reproduce the issue (so you’d have to go back to using the unusual character in the usernames) and zip up the logs? I’ll write the instructions here:

    – Go to the installation folder of NoMachine, for example: C:\Program Files\NoMachine\etc and locate the server.cfg file.

    – Right-click the server.cfg and open it with a text editor such as Wordpad or Notepad.

    – Locate #SessionLogLevel 6 and change it to: SessionLogLevel 7.

    – And restart the server. You can restart from the GUI (see image).

    – Reproduce the problem. The logs will then capture any errors being produced.

    – The logs are located on Windows here: %PROGRAMDATA%/NoMachine/var/log . You can locate it quickly by opening up the ‘Run’ app and pasting that path in the appropriate field.

    – Zip up the folder by right-clicking the file or folder, point to Send To, and then click Compressed (zipped) Folder.

The logs would also allow us to check out the warnings about the server not shutting down properly 🙂

By the way, since they’re only PNG files you can replace them 🙂

One of the other developers will be following up with you about that 😉

Btw, does each of my post have to through moderation or is there some sort of confidence that kicks in after a few posts?

Each post is moderated. At the moment, trusted users are configured manually by the keymaster. This is to avoid the inevitable consequences of having an official forum open to the world of trolls; unfortunate for the genuine users out there, I know.

If it’s the second case, we’ll need to see the logs: https://www.nomachine.com/AR07K00677

Follow the instructions in the document for your version linked in the article above. You can submit any attachments here or if they are too big, they should be sent to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com.

We are aware of issues when the GUI is not showing the the correct information which is documented here: https://www.nomachine.com/TR12N07384 and these will be fixed in an upcoming maintenance.

Can you tell verify whether this is the problem you are experiencing i.e the port shown in the GUI is not the port that is meant to be mapped?

Or is the problem that the port is opened sometimes, then other times it’s not open? If that’s the case, does it happen on both Windows and Debian? Or just Windows?

Hi, we are not aware of any performance regression on version 6. It’s strange because many of our customers have reported that they have seen improvements in a number of areas.

Since this seems to be affecting your specific set-up, what I suggest you do is enable logs for the two different scenarios and connect to the remote host. You should connect from v6 to v5 which is not experiencing lag in your set-up and extract the logs. Then update to version 6. You should replicate the lag when connecting from v6 to v6, and grab the logs.

Send both to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com making sure you reference your topic.

Instructions for enabling logs are here: https://www.nomachine.com/AR07K00677

@Danslak, just to confirm that the TR which we opened thanks to your other forum post is in the queue – a solution should be made available in 6.1. (http://nomachine.com/TR11O08235)

We’d need to see the logs to be able to understand whether the drops are network related or a possible bug in NoMachine. Please see the following article for both server and client sides and send them to forum[at]nomachine.com:

    2) Is there a way to reboot from a distance?

Reboot what? The router or NoMachine? Also you wrote ‘2’, but I don’t see a point 1) – is that just a typo or is some text missing from your reply?

    I just found the solution.

So is NoMachine working for you? Did you check our article in the searchable KB about port-forwarding? https://www.nomachine.com/AR11L00827

    Hi 🙂

Your Gmail domain is blocking emails from forum[at]nomachine[dot]com. I just tried to send you the test tool again, but to no avail. I have attached it here, please let me know when you’ve downloaded it, so I can remove it.
