    The software doesn’t gather any data about you. It doesn’t track your location, it doesn’t monitor your habits, it doesn’t scan your computer, it doesn’t access your email address book or anything else. You install it and use it. But to know more about NoMachine’s privacy policies (Privacy Policy is in footer) in general, then I suggest you submit a contact request via the website (in the footer, Contact Us) or write to us using the contact details in the Privacy Policy.

    It seems the logs were only partial. From the server host you should obtain the full set of logs. Follow the instructions here: https://www.nomachine.com/DT07M00098. Send them directly to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com.

    @dza we would like to send you a debug version, but first it is advisable to update to the latest version and tell us if you are still having the same problem.

    An update so far.  What we see is that there’s a different dll path search order, but we don’t understand what might be causing changes in this path search order. What we can suggest is that you update to the latest version and tell us if the problem persists. If it does, we’ll send you over a debug package to install and continue the investigation on the latest version.

    If you haven’t done so already, please update to the latest version. We aren’t aware of problems as you described i.e seeing a blank screen on the client once you’ve connected to the remote host. As an FYI, CTRL+ALT+DEL can be sent to the remote host. Check this article in the online Knowledge Base:

    We received the logs but they were not helpful in our investigations to understand why this was happening on your Windows 7. We were unable to reproduce on any of our installations. All we can suggest is that you upgrade the NoMachine software, if you haven’t done so already, and see if the problem continues.

    1) Is NoMachine Server a separate product? I installed NoMachine on Ubuntu, and I’m already able to control one machine from the other and vice versa, so does that mean I have both the server and client already?

    The NoMachine free product is both a client and a server. So once installed, your computer is ready to be accessed remotely, and you will be able to get access to another NoMachine host.

    2) Is there any way I can allow a remote client to see my current session without creating a new user on the server system? I’ve seen instructions for adding a new user to the system. Adding a new user would allow remote clients to see that new user’s screen, and not my screen, right?

    An account is required for any user that needs to get access to your local desktop. Installing the free version will allow one connection. So if you are in front of your Ubuntu computer, you can allow another NoMachine user to see what you are working on provided they have an account. If you don’t want them to see your Ubuntu desktop session but prefer them to have a session of their own, what you need to install is Workstation for Linux. This offers the virtual Linux desktop functionality and lets you run 4 virtual Ubuntu desktops simultaneously.

    @bigtractor, I am not quite sure why you are concerned that we updated our KB article concerning the OS version that you are using. We try to keep our KB up-to-date as much as possible, and that sometimes means that when users report issues on the forums, we take time out to check whether specific OS versions are working as they’re supposed to. We also make regular checks on syntax and so forth, so an update will result even for the removal of a comma.

    The team actually added this part to the article specifically for your case which you took the time to report to us on the forums:

    Carbuff, the current server software is 5.1.54, which also includes the recent OpenSSL Project’s vulnerability fix as well as a number of fixes to do with copy&paste, so what you should do is update your server software (ask your Admin). Then if you continue to have problems, we can investigate on the latest version.
