    If my scenario described in the original post cannot be achieved via NoMachine, then I may have the same issue described here, https://discussions.apple.com/message/26912667#26912667. I went ahead and ordered a fit-headless-4k dongle to see if that works, http://www.fit-pc.com/web/fit-headless-4k-overview.
