I was able to connect by adding it again and that one has stayed up for over an hour.

    Britgirl,

I had a little time to look at this further today. When I got home from work and opened the laptop it would not show on the main window on my desktop until I opened the main window on the laptop. It would stay on the main window of the other computer as long as I left the window open on the laptop. If I closed the window on the laptop, it would disappear from the main window of the desktop in ~1.5 minutes. (Yes, I actually timed it twice. Lol.) So it looks like the issue doesn’t really have anything to do with the power settings or lid options. Additionally, if I leave the NoMachine window open on the laptop and close the lid (on power), then the laptop stays available in the main window on the desktop.

Sorry if I pointed you in the wrong direction there. I have NoMachine installed on 5 computers in my house and this is the only one behaving this way. All the others I can close the main window and they stay available on the other computers. The other computers are another Windows 10 Pro 21H2, Mageia 8, Kubuntu 22.04.1 LTS, and a Raspberry Pi. I also have a virtual Windows 10 at another location that I can always access with no issues. Hope this helps.

Do you mean that when you open the lid the OS restarts? Or when you open the lid you have to restart the NoMachine server (but the OS is still running)? Have you checked that the IP of that Windows computer can be pinged even with the lid closed?

The OS does not restart, I have to restart the NoMachine server. Yes the IP is pingable with the lid closed. I can also use other remote tools to access that computer while the lid is closed.

The Windows version is 10 Pro v21H2

Interestingly, tonight I restarted the NoMachine, left the lid open, and connected from another computer. While I was connected, the computer in question disappeared from the panel. After closing the NoMachine session, I was able to use a different remote utility to connect and restart the server again.

    Britgirl,

The original issue was slow response. I employed the fix I listed and the slowness is rectified, but I can only run headless. I get no image if I plug the monitor in.
