David, logs show that you’re using the quick connection address format (copied from the NoMachine Client GUI on the server) as hostname in the Connection Wizard (clicking ‘New’), so the client cannot connect to the host because it cannot detect the right address. As quick solution, paste that address in the search field you see in ‘Recent connections’ dialog and press Enter.

Please read also this article, it explains how to configure a connection:

    https://www.nomachine.com/getting-started-with-nomachine#internet

Look at Fig.11 and Fig.12 in particular.

Let me know if it helps.

    Hi Quantum.

Normally host certificate or fingerprint get saved and the message only appears when there is a mismatch.
If you’re using NX protocol, check if the following file exists and if it has correct access permissions:

    $HOME/.nx/config/client.crt

If you’re using SSH, check this file:

    $HOME/.ssh/known_hosts

If this doesn’t help, when you see the remote host key message pack the most recent logs directory ($HOME/.nx/R-*) and send it to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com.

Ammar, if you mean that the server is running only a console and that you want to see that in the NoMachine Client, then we don’t support this at the moment. We’re evaluating to add the Linux Framebuffer grabbing but it’s not in our short-term roadmap.
In order to use NoMachine on Linux you need an X server, even without a desktop manager. You may for example evaluate to start the X server and a fullscreen Xterm to run your console applications without a window manager.

Aikie, unluckily there is nothing we can do as this problem seems to be quite common on Yosemite when a monitor is not attached.
I didn’t find an official report, but these threads give some information about it:

    Hi Sergei.

Recently we’ve found a problem that may be related to your issue, can you please check it?

    Hi lubito.

Client version 4 doesn’t allow to preconfigure the geometry of the remote desktop the first time you connect. The default configuration resizes the remote desktop to the size of the client’s display. This default can be changed in two ways:

    • By unchecking the box “Change the server resolution to match the client when I connect” in the “Display resolution” dialog (this can be done in panels appearing when the session starts)
    • By enabling the option “Resize remote screen” in the Display menu panel

You can read more details about view modes by reading this article:

Resize and scaling options for NoMachine client version 4 or later
    https://www.nomachine.com/AR02M00835

Using the “Resize remote screen” option may not be always the best way to resize the desktop, because sometimes users may need a specific geometry. In order to improve this, in version 5 we’ll implement the following feature:

Adding the possibility to configure the resolution of the remote desktop

    Hi ammar.

You could use the ‘–session’ command line parameter, which will start a connection without showing the main dialog:

    /usr/NX/bin/nxplayer --session <path to the NXS file>

If you want to skip also other steps, like the session type selection, please read the first paragraph of the following article:

    Hi slane.

Our application is configured to share files with the connected computer through iTunes. Once the device is connected, open iTunes, select your device, enter Apps tab, on the left select NoMachine then click the ‘Add…’ button.

When the file is ready create a new connection in NoMachine App, select “Private key” then in the next wizard page you can browse the file system that, by default, starts from the same directory where the file was added with steps listed above.

The “snap back” behaviour is normal if the window is running in viewport mode, that means that “Resize remote screen” and “Fit to window” are both unchecked. Can you verify if “Resize remote screen” gets automatically disabled when you increase the window size?
What is the size of your display (or displays)?

Sergei, we’ve received logs, thanks. Can you please confirm that you’ve reproduced the original problems before collecting files to send?

    Hi mrt.

What’s the server OS and the type of session you’re running? When you say that the window size is limited, do you mean that you cannot make the local window bigger than that size, or that the remote desktop doesn’t change its geometry (e.g. it shows black borders)?

    Hello angelus1969.

As you’ve verified, version 4.2 doesn’t support the mouse correctly. We’ve worked on Qt libs to add the missing support and the only problems left are related to the middle button press and 3rd button mouse emulation, both not working correctly because of the way Android handles those events. Nevertheless we’ve decided to release this new version since it is a big improvement.
Currently we’re in pre-release phase and as soon as stores will approve our version (I hope in a bunch of days), we’ll release it officially.

    Hi jburman.

I’d need more information to tell you something useful. Are you using the latest NoMachine version on server? Did you configure the client to use SSH or NX protocol? What are exactly the errors description?

By default the NoMachine server advertises itself on the LAN, so you can connect by just tapping the icon in the list of connections without configuring it manually. Did you try it?

    Hello!
The problem is not the OS version or the display resolution. Currently our tablet application has the same UI design of the desktop version, and we consider it usable only on displays with a size equal or bigger than 7″, this is why the Note 4 is not compatible.
We’re working on a specific version for smaller screens, you can follow this Feature Request to know when we’ll release it:

Offering a NoMachine client for Android smartphones
    https://www.nomachine.com/FR09L02828

If you want to try the application on your smartphone you can still do it by visiting our website and downloading the APK version.
