Can you submit the crash logs you mention?
BritgirlKeymasterand also the Linux DE you want to connect to.
BritgirlKeymasterHi, please confirm what version of NoMachine you have installed on the connecting client and also what NoMachine product and version is on the server side. You mention 19.10, so I’m assuming the distro is Ubuntu. Thanks!
BritgirlKeymasterFrom debug output you need to fix access rights. Use this command:
chmod 4555 /usr/NX/bin/nxexec
BritgirlKeymaster@hifi25nl @mantoshelis – ok 🙂
BritgirlKeymasterAll those who are on this thread should now have received an email from us. Please check your email inboxes 🙂

BritgirlKeymasterHi, thanks for reporting, we’ve opened a Trouble Report and provided the correct workaround which you can see here: https://www.nomachine.com/TR10Q09440.
BritgirlKeymasterHi, thanks for reporting, we’ve opened a Trouble Report and provided the correct workaround. To avoid further confusion and splitting of topics, please refer to https://forums.nomachine.com/topic/nx-wont-work-with-recent-kde-5-17. Thanks!
BritgirlKeymasterPlease see:
https://www.nomachine.com/TR10Q09440
The correct workaround is:
– edit /usr/NX/etc/node.cfg, and change the following key:
DefaultDesktopCommand “/usr/bin/dbus-launch /usr/bin/startplasma-x11”
BritgirlKeymasterYou should have received the link from me 🙂 yesterday. I’ll resend to make sure you get it.
BritgirlKeymasterSome tips on setting the “right resolution” are available here: https://www.nomachine.com/AR02M00836 and here: https://www.nomachine.com/AR02M00835.
I’m not sure why you think that NoMachine doesn’t support a higher resolution. When connected to the physical desktop, the maximum resolution you can get is the maximum resolution supported by the remote graphics card on the system. If you need to work at higher resolution, you may consider to try NoMachine Workstation and run a virtual desktop session.
BritgirlKeymasterThanks for letting us know Tyl 🙂
BritgirlKeymasterTry enabling the “Grab the keyboard” in the Input settings inside the session (via the Menu, Ctrl-Alt-0). When the NoMachine window has the focus, most of the keys are “grabbed” (all the keys/shortcuts that the system allows to grab) and sent to the session instead of the local system.
BritgirlKeymasterPlease send us the logs from the server side. You can extract them following the instructions here, https://www.nomachine.com/DT10O00163.
Send them to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com making sure to reference the topic’s title in the subject of your email. Thanks. -
